Our Mission
Fostering Orchid Culture & Conservation
We are lucky to reside in one of the best parts of the country for the cultivation of orchids in the home, greenhouse, and garden. It is our hope that our site, meetings, and our members will spark your enthusiasm to give this most satisfying hobby a try!
SFOS is a California 501(c)3 non-profit organization composed of individuals and orchid-related businesses interested in the culture and appreciation of orchids. Our mission is to foster the culture and conservation of orchids and to promote orchid education to our members and to the public.
We are affiliated with the American Orchid Society (AOS). Since the turn of the millennium, the SFOS has donated over $75,000 in support of local horticultural education and botanical gardens, botanical research, and international conservation efforts.

Monthly Meetings
Join Us In Person or Virtually
Our monthly meetings take place on the first Tuesday of each month at the SF County Fair Building Auditorium (Rec Room), 1199 9th Ave, San Francisco. Meetings are also streamed live on Zoom.
Each meeting features an expert speaker, followed by a Show & Tell where members can bring their blooming orchids, and a "plant opportunity table" where plants are available for purchase or trade.
